Thanks to Softstar for sending me these shoes. As always, all opinions are my own.

I’m always on the hunt for minimal footwear for our kids. I know that their little feet need to move without restriction and that they need shoes that allow their feet to develop properly. As we head into winter in Minnesota, it’s obviously not easy to be barefoot often, as we try to do the rest of the year. Plus, some of the minimal shoe options aren’t very warm. However, I turned to Softstar Shoes this year and I’m so excited to share some of their warm moccasins with you, which would make perfect gifts this holiday season!

Softstar Roo Moccasins

Since we’re heading into winter, I thought the Roo Moccasins would be the best option for our kids right now. For our daughter, I went with the Smooth Leather option in Fuschia/Oxblood. These moccasins are handmade and the high-quality natural materials help build these minimal shoes to let kids feel the earth under their feet.

The uppers are made of full-grain leather to wrap the foot in a rich, breathable material. The traditional suede soles are flexible and soft, and are great for both indoor and dry outdoor use. Suede is naturally durable and initially non-skid, wearing into a smoother, moisture-resistant surface over time. Plus, you can always restore the soles’ non-skid properties by gently rubbing the sole with a wire brush.

One of my favorite things about these Roo Moccasins is that they have luxurious sheepskin insoles. With winter right around the corner, that’s exactly what we need to keep the kids feet protected and dry. Genuine sheepskin is nature’s heat regulator; it keeps feet cool and dry in the summer and warm in the winter!

Inner elastic hugs the ankle for a secure fit that makes the moccasins easy for kids to put on and take off by themselves. These versatile children’s sheepskin moccasins can serve as everything from comfy classroom shoes to cozy slippers. For our son, I went with the Clementine/Azure color since he loves the color blue! You can choose one of Softstar’s leather combinations, or create your own colorful moccasins by customizing with your child’s favorite leather colors.

Our kids are loving their new moccasins and I know they’ll be great shoes for this fall and winter! I hope to continue to gift my kids with minimal shoes to help them with healthy foot development. Make sure you check them out this holiday season!

These are cute and look so comfy. I wish they would have had something like this when our girls were little. I like that help with healthy foot development, that’s so important.

Now this is a trick I will not forget — Plus, you can always restore the soles’ non-skid properties by gently rubbing the sole with a wire brush. — I have throw shoes away because they got slick

Love these shoes they would be perfect for my great niece. One of the first things she does when she gets home or at somebodys home is off with the shoes and socks. They would keep her feet warm but not feel heavy like shoes

These look so soft! I love the color combinations! I think these would be awesome for my little guy and way more comfy. I love that he could feel the ground, but his feet would still be protected.
