I received the Barrington Urban Collection Shuffleboard Table from MD Sports to help facilitate this post. As always, all opinions are my own.
I know what it’s like to live in cramped quarters. Until we added on recently, our home was on the smaller side. (Only 2 official bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for the 7 of us! Thankfully, our living room, dining room, and kitchen were all good sizes.) But as the kids have grown, I’ve realized that it’s important to have activities for them to do at home. I want our home to be ‘the fun house’. I’d prefer the neighbors all hang out here so I can keep an eye on things, provide snacks and meals, and just enjoy my kids. So recently, we started looking into game tables.

My husband’s first thoughts were a pool table. However, pool tables take up A LOT of space. Space that I just wasn’t committed to giving up just yet. So we kept brainstorming. Then, we remembered playing on a shuffle board table at the local mall last year. The entire family had a great time with it. So the decision was made. Shuffleboard it is!

With the addition we put on our home recently, we actually created a dedicated game room. We currently have 2 teens and three more kids in the trenches. So it seems as if we’re always hosting friends, holidays, birthday parties, and gatherings. This new space will now allow us to entertain more easily as we now have an air hockey table, large connect four, table and stools for playing board games and cards on, and now, this really awesome Barrington Urban Collection Shuffleboard Table.
After this, the next item on our list is a full size ping pong table! But Medal Sports has such an awesome variety of game room tables, games, and options that I think we’ll be adding a few more pieces to our room in the future!
Our Barrington Urban Collection Shuffleboard Table arrived on a large truck in two, very heavy, boxes. We used a skid loader to get get the boxes on our front porch but then my husband, 4 of the kids, and I managed to carry them in together. (The one box is HEAVY so I recommend a couple strong men or many hands like we had.)
Once inside, we opened the boxes and took off all the packaging. I want to note that the pieces were all packaged VERY well. Lots of protection so even though one of the boxes was a little damaged on the outside, everything inside appeared perfect.
The assembly includes attaching the legs to the table, securing the support beam, and also the abacuses. In all, the assembly process took less than an hour. The biggest time involved is because the table is heavy and takes some muscle to lift and move. But it wasn’t difficult at all.
While there are levers included for leveling too, our table was perfectly level upon assembly completion.
Time To Play!
We have been spending a ton of time playing Shuffleboard since the arrival of this awesome table. It’s been a big source of entertainment for our family and I know we will continue to enjoy for years to come! I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. Your kids are so lucky to have a game room. I love the way your shuffleboard table looks so nice and sleek up against the wall. If I were one of the neighbor kids, I’d want to hang out at your house, too. What brought all the kids to mine was the tetherball in the backyard.
This looks like fun!! I Love that it can fit in a more compact space. We are moving to a new house soon and it has a game room attached to the garage. This would be a great addition to it. I like the idea of getting something like this for Christmas for our entire family!
When I was a kid there was a restaurant we used to go to that had a shuffleboard we were aloud to play on. We hardly ever ate our food, we just wanted to play!
We always play this if there is one when were at friends or traveling we seem to find them at hotels the kids love it. Its really fun for kids of all ages.
I was thinking it would be a big clunk table but this table is beautiful! The style everthing about it. What would be nice is if you have some kinda top made for it. And you could use it at a serving table or what ever if you had a party or family in
I remember this game. Me and my family would go to this place for wings it’s called The Jug locally near us in NJ and they had this Shuffle Board alongside the windows inside the restaurant and I would always play with it it was fun. I miss it they don’t have it anymore. I wish they still did though.
I put this on the family Christmas list! I was leaning toward a foosball table for the hubby to start with, but he just brought one home and hid it “for the kids'” Christmas. haha! Great minds think alike I guess! I think this would go right along with it in the game room!
