HISEA sent me two pairs of boots for review. All opinions are my own.
The rain boot brand HISEA recently sent me and my boyfriend Ryan a pair of boots each to test out. I received their Unisex Mid-Calf Rubber Garden Boots while Ryan tried the Men’s Chelsea Rain Boots. We were excited to put these waterproof boots to the test before winter hits.
The rubber boots I got feature a slip-resistant rubber sole and completely sealed, waterproof shell that extends above the ankle. This design really locks out any debris or moisture. The adjustable top closure cinches the boots around your calf, while the reinforced heel, arch, and toe areas provide stability and protection.
Inside is a breathable mesh lining that wicks away sweat and moisture to keep your feet dry. The sole has great traction for slipping and sliding on uneven ground. Overall, these boots seem ideal for gardening, hiking, or any outdoor activities where you’ll encounter mud, rain, or snow.
Ryan’s Chelsea rain boots have a similar durable design with a few different style elements. They have a shock-absorbing 5mm neoprene upper and slip-resistant molded rubber outsole. The neoprene fabric is totally waterproof yet breathable.
These Chelsea boots have the same reinforced toe box and thick traction sole as my gardening style boots. Both styles seem really well-made and sturdy for all kinds of messy weather conditions. We could tell they were designed to lock out moisture and provide stability on rough terrain.
We did find that HISEA’s sizing runs quite large overall. I typically wear a size 7.5 shoe and ordered an 8 in these boots, but they are huge on me – I’d estimate they fit more like a size 9 or 9.5! Ryan usually wears an 11.5 men’s shoe but ordered an 11 in these boots, and his are still quite roomy.
So we’d recommend ordering a full size down from your regular shoe size if you want HISEA boots to fit snugly. It’s too bad since we really love the quality, traction, and adjustable waterproof design. If you don’t mind wearing thick socks to take up space, I’d still recommend these boots for their durability. Just be mindful that they do run oversized.
I’m always hunting for the perfect winter boots that can stand up to snow and ice while keeping my feet warm and dry. These HISEA boots have great potential if you get the sizing right.
