Kalkal Boots Review:
Waterproof Farm Boots That Can Handle Real Country Life

Not only are we a “big family” with eight members, we also live out in the country on a dairy farm in Minnesota. That means we experience all four seasons in full force. From muddy springs and hot summers to colorful falls and freezing, snow-packed winters; we see it all. Because of that, every member of our family owns multiple pairs of shoes and boots to handle everything from church and school to chores and farm work.

In fact, we accumulated so many pairs over the years that we eventually had a custom shoe shelf built in our garage. It has honestly been one of the best organizational projects we’ve ever done! No more piles of boots by the door or tripping over everyone’s footwear every time someone comes inside.
Recently, a couple of our kids mentioned that their old chore boots had finally reached the end of their lives. Between feeding animals, walking through muddy lots, and helping around the farm; boots simply don’t last forever. So I started looking for durable replacements and came across Kalkal.
Kalkal Boots Review
Kalkal carries an impressive selection of outdoor footwear designed for people who actually spend time outside. So, whether you need farm and ranch boots, hunting boots, fishing boots, garden boots, or even steel-toe work boots; they offer options built for tough conditions.

Today I’m sharing our experience with two different styles: the Women’s Rubber Hunting Boots and the Men’s Rubber Farm Boots.
Women’s Rubber Hunting Boots
The first pair we tried was the Kalkal Women’s Insulated Waterproof Hunting Boots. While these boots are marketed for hunting, they’re also an excellent choice for everyday farm chores, gardening, hiking, or anyone who regularly deals with wet, muddy conditions.

The 6mm neoprene upper combined with natural rubber creates a completely waterproof boot while also providing insulation for colder weather. Living in Minnesota, we appreciate footwear that can comfortably transition between chilly fall mornings and snowy winter days. These boots are rated for temperatures from -4°F to 50°F, making them useful through much of our year.
Despite the insulation, they don’t feel overly bulky. The EVA midsole helps cushion each step, making them comfortable enough to wear for extended periods while doing chores or spending time outdoors. I also like the tall calf-high design, which provides extra protection from mud, brush, and snow….. well, and cow manure!

One feature that really stands out is the aggressive tread pattern. Around our farm, muddy barnyards and slippery ground are just a part of our daily lives. The deep lugs provide excellent traction, and the self-cleaning outsole helps prevent mud from building up underneath these boots.
Men’s Rubber Farm Boots
My son also needed a dependable new pair of chore boots, so we selected the Kalkal Men’s Rubber Farm Boots. These boots are clearly designed with hardworking people in mind. The combination of 6mm neoprene and breathable air mesh helps regulate temperature while keeping feet dry and comfortable throughout long days outdoors. That’s especially important when you’re constantly moving between the barn, fields, and equipment.

As expected, waterproof performance is one of their strongest features. Whether walking through the milking parlor, puddles, wet grass, mud, or melting snow; moisture stays outside where it belongs. It’s crazy how important a good pair of boots is even for farm kids. But dry feet make a huge difference when working around the farm!
Traction is another area where these boots excel. The rugged outsole grips well on muddy lots, gravel driveways, snowy paths, and slick surfaces around the farm. Kalkal even incorporates a steel shank into the outsole to provide additional stability and support during long hours on uneven terrain.

The reinforced toe and heel construction give added confidence that these boots will stand up to everyday farm use and abuse. From handling sticks and rocks to heavy daily wear, they’re built to handle demanding conditions while protecting your feet.

Final Thoughts
Finding durable boots that can handle daily farm life isn’t always easy. But Kalkal has definitely impressed us. Both pairs are waterproof, comfortable, well insulated, and built with the durability needed for real outdoor work. Whether you’re feeding livestock, working in the garden, heading out hunting, or simply tackling messy outdoor chores, these boots are ready for the job.
So if you’re looking for reliable boots that offer comfort, traction, and protection without sacrificing value, definitely check out the Kalkal brand. They’ve been a great addition to our family’s collection of chore boots and I’m looking forward to seeing how they continue to perform through Minnesota’s changing seasons.
