DREAM PAIRS Waterproof Winter Boots Review: Warm & Stylish Snow Boots for the Whole Family
It’s no secret that we are BIG fans of the DREAM PAIRS brand of footwear. I think almost everyone in our family owns AT LEAST one pair, with many of us owning several. From everyday sneakers and sandals to dress shoes and boots. DREAM PAIRS has become one of our go-to brands over the years. (In fact, I actually ordered myself a pair of their dress shoes from Amazon just a couple of weeks ago and ended up wearing them to a funeral this week.) They’re a brand I continue to come back to because they offer a great combination of style, comfort, and affordability.
And now that the weather is beginning to change, it’s time to start thinking about winter. Living in Minnesota, we know a thing or two about cold weather. Between snow, ice, freezing temperatures, and all the outdoor activities our family enjoys; having dependable winter boots is an absolute must. So, in preparation for the colder months ahead, I decided to get our youngest daughter a couple of new pairs of winter boots and finally update my own as well.
DREAM PAIRS Girls Snow Waterproof Winter Boots
First up are the adorable DREAM PAIRS Girls Snow Waterproof Winter Boots. Oh my goodness, these boots are SO CUTE! They are available in a few color options but I chose the purple pair for Ruby and she absolutely LOVES them! Between the gorgeous shimmery finish and the soft, fluffy faux fur lining, these boots are right up her alley. She’s already itching for that first snowfall so she can finally start wearing them.
The tall shaft is lined with plush faux fur to help keep cold air out and warmth in. This is especially important for little ones who love spending time outside. The splash-resistant upper is designed to help keep moisture from rain and snow from seeping inside. Also important as there’s nothing worse than a child coming inside after just a few minutes of play complaining about cold, wet feet. (We all know how long it takes to get them dressed to go out!)
These boots also feature a reinforced toe cap, deep-tread TPR outsole, and a side zipper. So these boots really do combine the best of both worlds. A fun, fashionable design that little girls will love and practical winter features that parents can appreciate.
DREAM PAIRS Boys Waterproof Boots Outdoor Shoes
Next up are the DREAM PAIRS Boys Waterproof Boots. Now, even though these are marketed as boys’ boots, I actually picked up a black pair for Ruby. Because she attends Nature School once a week, I wanted something a little more rugged and practical for those adventures. At Nature School, the kids spend the majority of their day outdoors. Sometimes the entire day! That means lots of climbing, exploring, running, playing, and getting dirty. And as the temperatures continue dropping, having the right footwear becomes even more important. So she needed a pair of boots that could handle all that activity without sacrificing warmth or comfort.
These DREAM PAIRS outdoor boots feature a splash-resistant shell and warm lining designed to help keep little feet dry and cozy during cold-weather adventures. They also feature a sturdy, grippy outsole. When kids are exploring uneven ground, climbing over logs, or walking through wet grass and muddy areas, good traction is important. Plus, I LOVE is the pull-on handles! They make it so she can get into these boots quick and with ease. At Nature School, the kids are encouraged to develop independence and confidence, so the handles are definitely a plus.
The simplistic design of these boots make them great for all-around every day adventures. They aren’t overly fancy. They’re meant to be worn, played in, and enjoyed.
DREAM PAIRS Women’s Waterproof Mid Calf Snow Boots
Finally, it was MY turn! I decided it was time to retire my old winter boots and upgrade to a pair of DREAM PAIRS Women’s Waterproof Mid Calf Snow Boots. I chose the dark gray color, and I love how versatile they look. They’re stylish enough to wear while running errands but practical enough for everyday winter activities. Being from Minnesota, looking cute is always a bonus, but warmth and comfort are definitely my top priorities. Every winter, I freeze at homeschool co-op because we meet in an old church that doesn’t heat well. I’m SO looking forward to having these boots on hand to help keep me warm finally!
These boots feature a combination of faux rabbit fur lining, a soft faux sherpa insole, and 3M Thinsulate insulation to help keep feet warm when the temperatures drop. The mid-calf height also provides extra coverage against the cold and even helps keep snow from sneaking inside when walking through snowy areas. The adjustable lace-up front allows the wearer to customize the fit, which is especially helpful when wearing thicker winter socks. (Another must in MN.) Once you’ve got the laces adjusted the way you like them, the convenient inside zipper makes getting the boots on and off much easier.
I just really like everything about these boots. They aren’t overly bulky, which I REALLY appreciate. And the patterned outsole is designed to provide additional grip on wet and snowy surfaces which is extremely useful too. They’re just an all-around great boot.
Final Thoughts On DREAM PAIRS Winter Boots
While we’re still waiting for Minnesota winter to really put these boots to the test, I’m impressed with the features and designs each of these pairs of boots offers. We’ve had great experiences with DREAM PAIRS footwear over the years, which is why I continue to turn to the brand when our family needs new shoes.
