HISEA recently provided me and my boyfriend Ryan with pairs of boots to test and review before the winter months arrive. All opinions in this review are entirely my own.
I was sent HISEA’s Unisex Mid-Calf Rubber Garden Boots, while Ryan tried out their Men’s Chelsea Rain Boots model. We were very eager to give these waterproof boots a test run before the cold weather hits, since we’ve been looking for sturdy and protective footwear to rely on once it starts snowing and raining more regularly.
The pair of gardening boots I received boasts a slip-resistant rubber sole and a completely sealed, 100% waterproof shell that extends high above the ankle. This thoughtful design does an impeccable job of locking out any debris, moisture or liquid from penetrating the interior. The adjustable top closure enables you to cinch the boots snugly around your calves to achieve a tight, perfect fit. Additionally, the reinforced heel, arch, and toe areas provide excellent stability and protection on unstable or uneven terrain.
Inside the boot is a breathable mesh lining that effortlessly wicks away sweat and moisture to keep your feet cool, dry and comfortable all day long. The durable rubber sole demonstrates sensational traction and grip, so you can tread easily across wet, muddy or slippery surfaces. Overall, these sturdy boots seem optimally designed for gardening, hiking, walking, or any outdoor activities where you expect to encounter mud, rain, sleet or snow.
Ryan’s Chelsea rain boots showcase a similar heavyweight, durable construction, along with some stylish design elements. They feature a shock-absorbing 5mm neoprene upper and a hardy slip-resistant molded rubber outsole. The neoprene fabric is completely impermeable to water yet remains highly breathable.
These Chelsea boots include the same reinforced toe box and robust traction sole as my gardening boots. It’s abundantly clear that both styles are extremely well-crafted and built to last through all kinds of inclement weather conditions. They appear thoughtfully engineered to effectively lock out moisture and provide for great stability across rough, uneven terrain.
In contrast to the oversized pair we were initially shipped, these replacement boots in a size down fit us flawlessly. I typically wear a 7.5 women’s shoe and the size 7 HISEA boots suit me perfectly. Ryan normally wears an 11.5 men’s shoe but the size 11 Chelsea boots are ideal for him.
So I’d strongly recommend ordering a half-size down from your usual shoe size if you want HISEA boots to fit snugly right out of the box. The sizing mix-up was understandable, and the company helpfully rushed us replacements in the appropriate size right away.
With the proper sizing, I wholeheartedly recommend these thoughtfully designed HISEA boots for their rugged quality, exceptional traction, and adjustable waterproof structure. They seem primed to perform as winter boots, ready to keep your feet warm, dry and steady across icy terrain.

I really like being able to cinch the boots up tightly. We have had so much rain that my backyard is a soggy mess and I need boots like these.
