Dip powder nails create long lasting manicures without any need for UV curing. The process works like this:
You prep your nails by cleaning and sanizizing your hands first, then push back your cuticles to prepare your surface, file your nail to tour desired length and gently file the surface of your nail to create a slight texture for better adhesion. Apply a PH bond or rubbing alcohol to remove any natural oils as those could prevent good adhesion.
Next, you actually do your nails! This involves starting with using the base layer polish over 3/4 of the nail, then dipping into powder, tap off the excess and removing any access powder that may have gotten on the cuticle area, then apply a base coat. From there you repeat this process to create more layers for a more durable result – four layers of dip is suggested. Once done layering the powders, you apply two coats of activator, and leave it to dry for about two minutes. Now you can file or buff any imperfections. Next, apply another coat of activator and wait another 1-2 minutes, then wipe each nail with a lint-free cloth or paper towel. Finally, apply a thin layer of top coat in 2-3 strokes, avoiding the cuticle area. The first layer will appear somewhat matte. Quickly apply one more layer of top coat for a shinier look!
