Familius Publishing sent me books for inclusion in my holiday gift guide. There are affiliate links in this post. All opinions are my own.
One of my favorite groups to shop for over the holidays are babies! There’s just something so sweet about a baby’s first few Christmases, to me. Plus, I love giving books as gifts to people of any age. So buying babies books as gifts is the best of both worlds, for me. This year, I selected several books for a baby in my life from Familius Publishing.
Familius Publishing is a family-focused book publisher. They have a lot of children’s books, but also books for adults, including parenting books, mental health and wellness books, hobbies and more.
While almost all of my books were for babies, I did select one for older kids. I’ll share that one first.

Want A Hug? Is a book for kids ages roughly 3-6. It’s a picture book designed to teach kids the basics of concent. While we might often associate that word with adult activities, it’s really a concept that is appropriate for all ages when put in the right context. This book talks about consent in reference to asking people if they want a hug, if you can go faster while on one end of a teeter-totter with them, all sorts of child-appropriate scenarios. It’s key for children to learn that they have a right to bodily autonomy and that everyone else does, too!
Okay, on to the baby and toddler books!

Familius has a line of Nita Signs books that are board books for babies that go over some baby sign language! These are perfect for babies who know sign language or whose parents are trying to teach them some signs. The two that I was sent are Nita’s Food Signs, which teaches babies 10 food-related words in sign language! It teaches the word ‘eat’ and then nine food words. The other is Nita’s First Signs, which is really an intro to signs book as it teaches 10 general, essential signs for babies!

Next, are two “Baby Sees” board books. These are high contrast books which are great for newborns and very young babies as their eyesight is quite limited and high contrast designs are easiest for them to see and focus on. The two I was sent include Baby Sees Things That Go, which of course, is focused on vehicles. The other is Baby Sees Fairy Tale Creatures, which features dragons, mermaids, unicorns and more.
Next up, are two Christmas-themed picks!

L is For Little Hands’ A Christmas Carol is a board book with 16 pages, that condenses the classic A Christmas Carol book down into a baby and toddler-friendly board book! This is an adorable introduction to the classic.
The next is Christmas Train, which I find super duper adorable. I love the attention to detail, like the mouse that you can see on the cover. This story takes you along on Santa’s train and has sort of a seek-and-find theme to it, as well as a counting theme. This book is really two things in one! It’s a board book of course, but it can also be fully unfolded to reveal a 56″ long train! It has a velcro clasp that you can use to secure the book in its book shape for storage on your bookshelf or taking on the go.

And last but not least, S is For Snow, which is a winter-themed book that focuses on letters. Here in Michigan we get plenty of snow most winters, so this is an awesome book for babies who are having their first snow (or perhaps just the first snow that they can remember). However, it would also be cute for babies who live in states that don’t get snow, to get an introduction to the concept!
I’m excited to gift these Familius Publishing books this holiday season. This is just a small peek at what Familius has to offer. They have a books for kids of a wide range of ages, and items for adults too! Be sure to check out the Familius Publishing website to see their whole catalog.

Win it: Familius is offering their book Eat, Laugh, Talk “family dinner playbook” to one lucky winner! This is a really neat book that really combines food and cooking with quality family time. Research has shown that having pleasant meals with your family is good for everyone in multiple ways! This book aims to make dinner time a pleasant experience in terms of food, social connection and fun! It features conversation starters, quick and easy recipes, and tips for managing it all! For example, it has advice for managing conflicting schedules and setting dinnertime goals. It’s really an all-in-one family mealtime book. It’s intended to last for 52 weeks, making it perfect for starting with the new year!
This giveaway is open to the US and will end 12/28/2025 at 11:59 pm EST.
