I was about 10 years old when I first heard about shoes that had wheels in them. I wound up getting a pair, and the soles were probably three inches thick because they contained the wheels. However, the shoes themselves looked really silly - like moonshoes almost. They weren't practical for regular everyday wear and I don't think I wore them more than maybe five times.
