I have a niece and nephew who love to play wii with me when they come over but for the most part it’s hard to find games that my 6 year old nephew can play. When we do find games that he can play at first, they tend to get harder really quickly and then he just gets stuck and frustrated. I knew that the wii game from think smart was designed for the entire family so I thought it would be great to try out with them. I had tried it ahead of time and knew that I enjoyed it and some of the games seemed like they might be easy enough for the kids. My niece is 13 and she also really enjoyed this game and when it came time for the real test, my little nephew really liked this game. I think it’s one of his new favorites now! He enjoyed it as much or maybe even more than me and my niece. I think it says a lot about a game when it can entertain such a vast age group.

I also love the content of the games. They are all intended to challenge your brain and some encourage physical activity which is great. Some of the puzzle games are probably familiar to you, including games like sudoku and a ‘simon’ like memory game where you have to repeat the order that you saw. There are also sorting games and others.

I also like how you can have up to 16 players, that’s higher than any other wii game that I know of. So this could be a great game for sleepovers or large families. Neither of the kids mentioned the math or other educational factors of the game so I don’t think they even noticed. I think it’s always great to let kids learn while they think they are just having fun. ThinkSmart offers two versions of this game for the DS, one of which is aimed at kids.
