Little C absolutely loves Dinosaur Train and when I was asked to review a DVD and book I couldn’t resist!  Little C was introduced to Dinosaur Train through PBS KIDS.  It is an Emmy-nominated and Parents’ Choice Silver Honor TV series and is rated as one of the top ten shows for children ages 2-5.  Dinosaur Train was created by Craig Bartlett and embraces the fascination that preschoolers have with trains and dinosaurs.  It also encourages basic scientific skills.  It is amazing what Little C has learned from Dinosaur Train!

The DVD we received is Dinosaurs A to Z.  The running time is approximately 110 minutes, which is great.  I love it when DVD’s have more then 1 or 2 episodes on it.  There is no need for Little C to sit and watch every episode.  He can enjoy one episode and know that there are more to enjoy later.  Dinosaurs A to Z has several episodes.  You will enjoy such titles as The Call of the Wild Corythosaurus, Fast Friends, One Small Dinosaur, Have you Heard About the Herd? and a great bonus episode; Festival of Lights.  Little C has not watched all of the episodes, but his favorite right now is Festival of Lights.

The book we received was Dinosaur Train Ride the Holiday Train.  The book has cardboard pages and 45 fun flaps to lift.  The Pteranodon family and some other friends travel on the holiday train to the North Pole where they have the chance to build snow dinosaurs, play a prehistoric game of ice hockey, and meet some new friends.  The book offers great pictures and Little C absolutely loves to lift the flaps!  We have read this book several times since we received it.  Little C never seems to get tired of it.

If you are looking for a great holiday book or DVD for your little one make sure to check out Dinosaur Train.  You can find Dinosaur Train on Facebook as well as PBS KIDS on Facebook and Twitter.  Don’t miss out on all of the holiday fun this year!  You and your children will absolutely love it!
