This week, my body needed a bit of a break. We started off the week with my little girls both having colds that just weren’t getting better. I listened to my Mommy instinct and took them to the doctors. Sure enough, they both had bronchitis. Within two days, my Husband and I had it too. I didn’t have much of an appetite but, I did try to continue eating my Nutrisystem foods. I gave myself permission to take a break from exercising. We spent the next couple days resting, sharing the box of tissues, and passing around the bag of cough drops. We are finishing the week with all of us on the mend. The girls definitely have their energy back and my Husband and I are close behind.
Even with our week off, my measurements showed a loss of .5 in my upper arms, 0 in chest, .5 in waist, 1 in my hips, 1 in my thighs, a weekly total of 3 inches and an overall total of 25.5 inches. I also lost 1 pound, bringing my overall total to 26.4 pounds in 15 weeks!
Next week I am going to do what I had intended to do last week. Lol. I plan to resume a regular workout schedule.
I am having so much fun discovering all the yummy recipes available on Nutrisystem’s website. This week I want to share a Turkey Chili recipe. This recipe reminds me of my Grandma. She was a fun and crazy lady. She tried making stew one time out of a cookbook but read the recipe wrong. She ended up making this unique chili stew dish that my family still makes today. She would be so proud of me….tear.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

I really liked the easiness of NutriSystem when I did it. The only problem is I’m a vegetarian, and I got bored of only having a few options of things to eat, because about 1/4 of their veg foods tasted really gross. The rest was great though, but even the best food becomes very unappealing if that’s all you’re eating. LOL

I like that they offer recipes in addition to the ready-made foods!
