Some toy and game companies are so well-known, they’ve become household names. Hasbro is definitely one of those companies. With tons of tried and true games such as Monopoly, Guess Who?, Risk, and Operation, it’s clear to me that Hasbro’s toys and games make ideal gifts.

Hasbro is constantly developing new games and adding new twists to their classic games. They also have many different brands for all age groups. For little ones, they have Playskool, Mr. Potato Head, etc. For kids, they have Play-Doh, Guess Who?, My Littlest Pet Shop, etc.  For older kids and adults, they have Monopoly, Cranium, Clue, Twister, Battleship, etc. So many of these games I grew up with myself and I’m glad to see that my daughter will also be able to spend quality time with her family and friends playing the same games.

For this review, I received many different products. First of all, I received a Rocktivity Walk ‘N Roll Rider and a Poppin’ Park Bounce ‘N Ride for my daughter.

The Rocktivity Rider is both a walker and a ride-on. It is recommended for 9 months and up. It was fairly easy to put together. The only difficulty was the wheels which fit in place very tightly so you need a bit of strength to slide them in place. The instructions are really clear and easy to follow so it didn’t take more than 15-20 minutes.

My daughter absolutely loves it! She is not yet walking independently and we therefore switch back and forth between the walker position and the ride-on position. Changing position is very easy with 2 tabs under the seat and only takes a second. It is great as a walker because there is a big handle for my daughter to hold onto and it is extremely stable because of the position of the 4 wheels. The speed cannot be controlled like some other walkers but because of its weight and size, it doesn’t tend to more very fast so my daughter is never out of balance.

As a ride-on, the handle bar is easy to hold onto and is at the right height for my daughter. She has already learned to move forward and backward. The seat is wide enough and my daughter has never slipped off of it. So far the only downfall is that the back wheels are a bit wide to accommodate the walker position so my daughter has a bit of difficulty pushing herself forward because her legs can’t go very far before hitting the back of the rider. I guess as she grows and her legs become longer, this won’t be an issue anymore.

The best part about this toy is the buttons. There is a start button, a horn, and an elephant button. It’s a big red button which is very attractive for little ones. My daughter loves to push it. The elephant has a few pre-recorded expressions such as ‘Oh yeah’ and ‘Woohoo’ and there are also 16 tunes. They used popular songs such as ‘I Like To Move It’ and ‘Life Is a Highway’ and gave them a kid-friendly sound. It’s a nice feature from an adult perspective because so many musical toys are only a few songs that you get tired of way before your kid does!

The Poppin’ Park Bounce ‘N Ride is also a ride-on toy. It is recommended for 12 months and up. It is easier to assemble than the Rocktivity rider but again, the part that required more strength was the wheels that need to be snapped into place. Once again, the instructions were clear and easy to follow and it took me less than 15 minutes to put it together.

What’s special about it is that under the seat is an inflatable ball so not only can my daughter ride but she can also bounce on it. By the way, the pump that you need to inflate the ball is included. When my daughter bounces, it makes funny ‘boing’ sounds and plays short tunes. There is also a kickstand underneath which turns this ride-on toy into a stationary one. So far, my daughter has enjoyed it more in the ride-on position.

So far, this toy is easier to push forward than the Rocktivity for my daughter because the back is narrower and doesn’t hinder her movements as much. The handlebar is circular and not as wide at the Rocktivity’s handlebar but it still works great. There is also a monkey hanging from the handlebar which swings back and forth as my daughter bounces and moves around.

The other 2 games I received are for older kids and adults: Clue The Classic and Monopoly Millionaire. I hadn’t had a chance to play Clue in ages and I was so happy to finally be able to play! This game is recommeded for ages 8 and up. It is still the same classic game I remembered with a few modern upgrades.

First of all, the graphics were updated and the mansion was remodeled: there is now a garage, a bedroom, and a bathroom. Second of all, they added a new set of rules for 2-player games. I remember as a kid that it wasn’t as challenging to play this game with just one person but I tried this new 2-player version and does add a new level of difficulty because some of the cards are set aside as if for a third invisible player.

I still love this game very much. I like that it’s been updated but it still has its classic flavor. Clue is a great family game and I like that it develops reasoning and planning skills.

The last game I received was Monopoly Millionaire. Once again, I remember as a kid that I played the classic Monopoly game with my siblings all the time. Monopoly Millionaire is a new take on the classic. The winner of the game is now the first person to make a million dollars. The board remains similar but the properties are different from the classic game. In this version, your mover can be upgraded as you earn more money, for example, you start with a paper airplane, then you get a small airplane, and at the last level, you get a jet. But things can turn badly and you can also downgrade…

The part that I liked the most about this new version is the Title Deed cards. These cards I found can really make or break your game. They are placed on each property and have to be read and acted before the property can be purchased or auctioned. They can earn you a free house or force you to give money to your opponent for example.

Because this game is now a race to a million dollars, it is much quicker than the classic Monopoly game. A game typically lasts between 30-60 minutes which means you can start a game and end it in one sitting! You can even play a couple games in an evening.

Overall, I was pleased to discover some of Playskool’s toys for my daughter and rediscover some classic games for myself. As I said before, I am really glad to see that Hasbro’s games and toys last in time. It is telling of their quality, design, and fun factor! I’d say you can’t go wrong with a Hasbro game, especially since they have so many great products and are constantly creating new games.

I’d suggest you head over to Hasbro to find out about all their games and toys. Whether you are looking for a classic game that is sure to please or a brand new game, Hasbro has something for you. Don’t forget to like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter for all the latest news and promotions.

  • Looks like there is really a great selection of products for everyone!

  • Hasbro has such a fantastic assortment of toys. My family has Millionaire Monopoly and we love it!

We like it as well. I especially like that it is not as time consuming as the classic Monopoly game. With a 1 year old cruising around and a million things to do, I need to relax but can’t justify spending hours playing a game either.

  • Your daughter obviously LOVES her Rocktivity Rider. You can see how proud she is of herself in the pictures. Thank you for letting us know that that made sure that while they were designing it to think stability. It scares me sometimes how unstable children’s walking toys can be. I will be sure to share how well made this one is.

You’re right Felissa! My daughter is so proud to ‘walk’ with her rider. She’s become more adventurous (she’s typically very cautious) and wants to explore more.
