Homemade wooden items are really neat.  I had an Uncle who died a few years ago that would create amazing small wood projects such as rocking horses and clocks.  I cherish the clock he gave us for our wedding gift and even though a piece broke and the clock no longer “runs”, I just can’t take it off my wall.  I came across a great little Woodworking company called Ugol Woodworks LLC who offers some beautiful unique crafted pieces.  Based out of Rode Island,  Ugol Woodworks creates custom pieces for customers throughout the US and Internationally.  They are committed to using “Green” practices while creating their pieces and the wood they use comes from sustainable resources.  Ugol Woodworks also uses 0% VOC and is formaldehyde free.  Ugol Woodworks sent me samples to facilitate this review and share my honest opinions.

Jewelry is a great accessory.  There are so many unique pieces available from stores, jewelry makers, crafters, and even wood workers.  Ugol Woodworks creates and offers Wooden Cuff Bracelets to their customers.  They take great care to create these pieces by bonding five thin layers of wood.  They are gently shaped and formed to provide light, comfortable, and durable wear.  After shaping, the bracelets are sanded, treated, given a wax finish, and finally hand buffed for a unique satin finish.

Each and every Wooden Cuff Bracelet is unique and special and no two are identical.  I find the Wooden Cuff fairly easy to slip on with a little angling, which helps the cuff stay in place and not slide.  It’s really comfortable and I tend to forget I’m even wearing it.  What a great lasting gift a Wooden Cuff Bracelet would make.

I also received a Wooden Shoehorn from Ugol Woodworks.  I have never owned a shoehorn before but I remember my Grandma having one when I was growing up so I was slightly familiar with them.  Our 6 year old son has the most difficult time getting his tennis shoes on and tends to step down the back as he tries.  So I decided that I would encourage him to use the Shoehorn and see if it could help him become a little more independent.  He absolutely loves using the Shoehorn and reaches for it on a daily basis.

I also had my husband test out the Wooden Shoehorn.  He found it just as easy to use as our son did.  Actually, I wish I would have video recorded his reaction the first time he used it.  His face lit up with shock at how easy and effortlessly hit shoe went on!  It’s a nice length that allows him to not have to bend down when he uses it.  Not only is the Shoehorn easy to use, but it will definitely extend the life of shoes since bending the backs tends to wreck them.
