I love handmade accessories. There is something special about wearing an item that you know is totally unique and was created just for you. Handmade items are also great to show your personality and set you apart from the mass. It is also a perfect way to encourage our local economy and support someone’s hard work directly. Etsy is obviously the perfect place to make such one-of-a-kind finds. This is where I recently came across East of the Sun West of the Moon (which is shortened to EoSunWoMoon on Esty). This shop is owned by Rachael Grow and she sells different kinds of handspun yarns. She also sells beautiful infinity scarves and adorable felted flower brooches.

You can get yarn in more subdued colors or in very vibrant ones. I especially likes how she blends different hues together to create stunning color combinations. Like I said before, no two items will be alike which makes them even more special.

For this review, I received a stunning Infinity Scarf in White Gold and Green. It’s definitely a unique color combination and I love it! It’s perfect for the Fall! It can be worn long or wrapped around as a cowl scarf (which is how I like to wear it).

I like how this scarf has strands of different thicknesses and how the white makes each of the colored strands pop! This is definitely not something you would find in a retail store and I get many compliments on it.

Because it is made of wool, it’s perfect to keep my neck warm in colder days without overheating. In terms of maintenance, this is a delicate item so it has to be gently handwashed and laid flat to dry. It should NOT be wrung or twisted. Taking good care of it will result in the scarf maintaining its color, shape and overall look for a long time.

Rachael also has another Etsy shop: Pixie Falls Hair (look for Pixiefallshair on Esty). This shop is dedicated to colorful handspun hair extensions, hair pins and bracelets. Little girls (and not-so-little girls too) will enjoy these splash of colors in their hair! They are perfect must-have accessories for little pixies. I know my daughter would love them! They come in 2 lenghts and with or without white strands. They easily clip into hair and can add a whimsy touch to any outfit or costume. I’m thinking many Halloween fairies would go head over heels for them.
