june nadine west outfits

Nadine West sent me a clothing subscription bag for review. There are affiliate links in this article. All opinions are my own.

Nadine West is a wome’s clothing subscription service. They have you fill out a style profile to get a sense of your style and to gather your sizing info. Then you opt in to receive monthly or bimonthly shipments of clothing and accessories. You’re charged a shipping fee upfront that is just under $10, but you aren’t initially charged for the clothing.

Instead, you are sent the clothing to check out at home, and you have a couple of days to decide what to keep and what you’d like to return. The shipment includes a prepaid return shipping label so you can return any items that you don’t wish to keep. Then you’re only charged for the items that you chose to keep. Plus, the shipping fee gets rolled into the cost of the item(s) that you keep. So if you decide to keep an item that is around $20, you’d only pay an additional $10 as the ~$10 shipping fee will be taken off the cost of the item.

This time I was sent six items. Here’s what was included.

nadine earrings

I thought these whale tail earrings were really cute! I’m not really into whales though, so I don’t see myself wearing them. They are $17.99 to keep.

silver necklace

I thought this two-strand silver necklace with little discs was really pretty! It’s definitely something I will get some wear out of. With it being made in Korea and being ‘fashion jewelry’ rather than fine jewelry, I was a bit surprised that it is priced at $44.99. I like it, but I’d expect to pay about half that price for a necklace of this type.

jeggings

The top here was previously owned by me, just the pants were sent.

My favorite items from Nadine West are the jeggings they send. These ones are elastic-waist, no real zipper, but real pockets. They look like jeans but are as comfortable as leggings. The back pockets on these seem to be spaced a bit too far apart which looks a little funny but they’re comfortable so I’ll be keeping them! These are priced at $37.99 which does seem steep to me, to be honest.

nadine west top

Those of you who have been reading my blog for awhile may remember that in the past I’ve take photos of some nadie west tops without realizing they were tops. Well, I did it again! When I tried this on I thought it was a short dress but I now see on my Nadine West account that it’s listed as a shirt. Whoops. Short girl problems!

I’m not a fan of wearing tunic or similar tops. I’m only 5’1″ so I think long shirts just make me look extremely short and aren’t my thing. So, I’ll pass on this top. It is $33.99 to keep. Also to just be honest…I’m again surprised at the price here. This doesn’t feel like a cheap shirt exactly, but it just feels like a ‘regular’ top so I’d expect it to be closer to the $20 price point.

nadine west dress

Okay, this one is really a dress! I thought this had a unique style to it, with the gray panels on the side and the criss-cross ties on the sides as well. I haven’t seen dresses quite like this, and I think it’s kinda cute. The main drawback for this dress in my opinion is the material. IT’s a really thick, heavy material that reminds me of thick sweatpants. It is soft to touch, but it just seems thick and heavy for a short dress. I usually only wear dresses when the weather is rather warm, and this material feels like it’s more geared toward winter. Due to that, I didn’t think I’d get much wear out of this dress and decided not to keep it. It is $34.99 to keep.

nadine west slacks

The top here was previously owned by me, only the bottoms were sent to me by nadine west.

These slacks were the last item in my bag. They are sort of like legging material, a bit stretchy. They are high-waisted with pleats, which reminds me a lot of the 80’s. As someone born in the early 90’s, I’ve always thought of 80’s fashion as really ou of style. I think most people see their parents’ generation of clothing as the worst. I am finally warming up to wearing high waisted clothing now but it took me a while to adjust to it! I don’t see myself ever adjusting to pleated pants or big belt buckles like this. Plus, I work from home so I very rarely need dress pants or slacks. I also found the split-ankle design a bit strange. The fabric of these struck me as feeling cheap and itchy, also. So, these were just really, really not for me! I wish that the Nadine West profile would update to let people check boxes to signify if they’re open to really casual clothes like pajamas and athleisure, or street clothes, or business casual, or dress clothes. I have very little use for dressier clothes so I’d love to be able to opt-out, but that isn’t currently an option.

Anyway, these slacks are $27.99 to keep but they were a pass for me.

This shipment was a bit of a mismatch for me, I only kept the jeggings. I have lost just a little bit of weight but I’ve found that I’ve received a lot of oversized tops lately. So I think I might update my profile to a smaller shirt size to see if that assist with getting better-fitted tops now.

Remember, if you want to try Nadine West you can fill out a style profile today. You’ll get charged about $10 for shipping and then will be sent a shipment of at least 4 items to see what you like!  Take $25 off a full box + Free Shipping when you subscribe with code JULNW25! Offer ends 8/01

I like the style of the dress with the gray panels. It looks good on you. It does look like it should be a lightweight summer material though.

I agree that the necklace seems way overpriced for being just costume jewelry! I really love the jeggings that you receive though, this is something that I would be a fan of getting as well. I know what you mean about tunic shirts too, I am pretty short, and they are so long on me that I feel silly.

I like the jeggings too. The tops are too big for my taste too. You made the best choice for this shipment.

I love both pieces of jewelry. The earrings would be perfect for my daughter. The jeggings are really cute!
