LifeStraw Go Bottle - Reusable Bottle With An Amazing Water Filter | Emily Reviews

Thank you LifeStraw
for providing me with a product to review, free of charge.
These are my own honest opinions.

In North America, we tend to take drinking water for granted. Truth is, it’s a privilege that we don’t have to trouble ourselves with water on a daily basis. Many people around the world constantly worry about where to get water, how clean it will be, whether or not they or their loved ones will get sick from drinking unsafe water.

They wanted to provide access to safe drinking water to people in vulnerable situations by converting microbiologically contaminated water into safe drinking water. It might sound complicated but in essence, LifeStraws are there when people need it and are especially important as an an emergency response tool to filter water contaminated following natural disasters. LifeStraws are ready to use right when you get them and require no batteries and no electricity making them accessible to all and virtually fool proof.

There are many LifeStraw products: the original LifeStraw personal water filter, the LifeStraw Go refillable water bottle, and the LifeStraw Family high volume water purifier. They all use the same basic yet extremely effective filtration technology which removes 99.9% of waterborne bacteria and protozoa, including e.Coli, salmonella, Giardia and more. There are no chemicals to mix, no iodine, all you do is drink directly from the LifeStraw or fill your bottle and sip water through your straw. It’s really as easy as it gets. The result is that you can safely drink water from rivers, ponds, lakes, etc.

Water becomes clear (even it was muddy to begin with) and totally safe to drink and it has no aftertaste. A single LifeStraw can filter up to 1000 liters (the LifeStraw Family can filter up to 18,000 liters) at 0.2 microns.

This is the portable water filtration system you need if you like to spend time outdoors and don’t have easy access to clean drinking water such as when you hike or backpack, or when you camp. It’s also a great when traveling. Sometimes, you may visit countries with easy access to drinking water but you can still get sick because your system isn’t used to the specific bacteria found in the water. Lastly, even if you don’t hike nor travel, I think every household should have at least one LifeStraw in the emergency preparedness kit. You never know when a disaster will strike and having access to water can make all the difference.

I especially like the LifeStraw Go refillable bottle because I can fill my bottle pretty much anywhere and then I don’t have to worry about having access to a water source for a while. There is carabiner on the lid that allows me to secure the bottle to my backpack. The filter itself can be replaced as needed and you can keep the same bottle indefinitely. Given that the bottle is made of made of BPA-free Tritan, it’s very durable. The mouthpiece is made of soft food-grade silicone so it won’t chip or crack.

Given the global mission behind LifeStraw, Vesterguard which is the company that developed the technology made a huge commitment: for every LifeStraw filter sold, they will provide a child in Africa with clean drinking water for an entire school year. So by getting this great water filtration system for you, you also help a child who really needs it. It can make a huge difference in her life and health!
