This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Chiquita Bananas for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
Did you know that prior to the Chiquita banana jingle being created in 1944, bananas were considered an exotic tropical fruit? The jingle was created by a team led by Robert Foreman – one of the main goals for the jingle was to educate americans about the benefits of consuming bananas. The Chiquita jingle is now considered one of the most successful commercial jingles of all time!
It’s hard for me to imagine that bananas were once less popular than they are now. From the time that I was just a toddler, bananas have been a major snack staple in the households of everyone I know. I remember singing the Chiquita song while grocery shopping as a kid. Our grocery store had produce right in the front of the store so bananas were always one of the first things to go into our cart. Seeing the Chiquita label would remind me of the song so I’d sing it throughout the store. I loved Chiquita bananas in particular because I would take the stickers off and add them to my sticker book.
