Thank you to The Young Scientists Club for providing me with product, free of charge, in exchange for this blog post. All opinions are 100% my own.
When most people hear the word “Science” they inwardly groan. I, myself, remember having a strong dislike for the subject back in school. Thankfully, Science no longer has to be dreaded. The Young Scientists Club offers subscription kits that make Science fun and can be delivered right to your doorstep monthly as well as enjoyed through their retail kits which are available in specialty stores nationwide and on Amazon.
For this review, we received their The Magic School Bus Growing Crazy Crystals Science Kit. Ms. Frizzle is always loads of fun and our children were excited to join this adventure. Geared for ages 5 and up, this crystalizing kit comes with almost everything we needed to try to grow and track our own crystals. While we needed to provide a few odds and ends, mostly typical things around the house, such as salt, sugar, baking soda, and a glass or jar, it was really convenient for the other items to be packaged along. Also included, is a chart to keep track of the experiments and note changes throughout.
We started at the beginning and made our way through most of the experiments. I like that the kids are eased into this adventure slowly by first examining salt and sugar crystals to note shapes and details. From there, we ventured to more difficult experiments. Mixing water with different solvents and following the rest of the steps led us to create several different projects to track. The kids are excited to continue watching for the rest of the week to see what happens. They are most excited to see if the rock candy experiment works!
Whether experiments succeed or fail due to user error, I love inviting the kids to get “down and dirty” with hands on experiments. With this kit, we were able to see results in only a couple hours with some of the trials! The only tears were mine when I forgot to have our 2 year old change into old clothes and he ruined his shirt with food coloring. Everyone else had a great time mixing, dumping, measuring, and experimenting and the time we spent together doing it was priceless!

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

for some reason on this one and the mens soap give away the last entrie where it says visit page you go to visit. It says you may submit the entrie but when you do you get a pop up saying this entry requires confirmation. Which I did but the computer is not noticing it. I will try again later
