Thank you to Valley Food Storage for providing me with product, free of charge, in exchange for this honest blog review. All opinions are 100% my own.
Life is unpredictable! Things that we cannot control are always happening. The unexpected could simply be a minor inconvenience or unfortunately, it could be a major catastrophe. I think it is important to hope for the best, but to also prepare yourself and your family for the worst.
To prepare my family for a situation where we don’t have power and need food, I have begun stocking emergency foods. I recently learned of a company called Valley Food Storage. I like what Valley Food Storage has to offer. Their products are FREE of MSG, NON-GMO Ingredients, Hydrogenated Oils, Artificial Preservatives, and Artificial Sweeteners. Valley Food Storage products are all-natural and made with ingredients you can easily pronounce.
Valley Food Storage specializes in packaged foods with extended shelf lives. They believe that no matter what happens you should have access to hot meals that are wholesome and delicious. Their products are made in the USA and have up to a 25 year shelf-life.

For my review, I received four prepared meal packages: Irish Pub Cheddar Potato Soup, Pasta Primavera, Mango Habanero Chili, and Chicken Teriyaki.
Each of these packages makes five servings. To prepare them you simply boil five cups of water and whisk in the contents of the package. Once combined, turn down the temperature to a gentle boil for approximately 15 minutes (see package for exact times). Let your meal rest for 5-7 minutes before serving.
The four meals I received set the bar pretty high for all other emergency foods. Not only were they delicious but they were also nutritious. Preparing Valley Food Storage meals is easy. This can be done in a Dutch oven over a camp fire, or in a pot with an electric burner….whatever heat source you have access to.
How have you prepared for the unexpected? Do you have an emergency food supply? Water? First-aid? Shelter?

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.

I have just recently been thinking of planning for a natural disaster or emergency!! I am so not prepared!! This would be a great way to prep!!

My husband has been wanting to get something easy but good for us to keep for “just in case”. We live in an area that can lose power in hurricane aftermath and we need something like this. I am going to see what they have.

I’m trying to keep a full pantry , but those emergency foods would be great to have for “just in case”. We also live in the hurricane/tornado area and need to be prepared for everything

I hate the idea that something bad may happen, but I live in earthquake country plus near a huge marine base that would be a target. I do need to make the investment and have these on hand.

I’m a prepper so I have some stored emergency food and water. I certainly have my oatmeal stocked (over 15 lbs!) since it’s my fave, and I know I can eat quick oats raw, lol, if I need to. The problem I’ve found with food like this is the high sodium content. I don’t eat salt and many of these packaged foods just have too much salt in them for my taste.

We just had a huge wind storm in our area last month and power was out for over a week in some neighborhoods. Between keeping my oldest from being afraid of the dark, and prepping to keep my baby warm, I didn’t even think to prep foods before the power went out. My husband spent an hour in a drive thru that first night. Lol. I wish we had something like this at home. Hopefully next time!

Thanks for the great review. I have always wondered what this kind of food was like. I would love to try their breakfast items. The Apple Cinnamon Pancakes look pretty tasty.

A wonderful review thanks so much,we always keep enough food and water for 2 weeks, you just never know !

I always keep a full pantry so have never felt the need to purchase emergency supplies. We have generators in case the power goes out as we live in the country and if we lose power, we lose water since it is pumped from a well. If things are totally gone, like an end of the world kind of gone, we are all doomed anyhow and anything you might have will be taken away by mobs of hungry people.
