There are lots of men and women who work outdoors all year round, no matter the weather. My husband just so happens to be one of them as he’s a dairy farmer. So there is always plenty to be done even when it’s snowing, blowing, and freezing wind chills. While I love hiding out in the house with the kids during those bitter days, I feel so bad for those out in the elements. Just about a month ago though, my husband heard about heated insoles from a friend of his and told me that was what he wanted for Christmas. Then, I happened to hear from ThermaCELL and was thrilled to partner with them for our 2016 Holiday Gift Guide.

ThermaCELL offers a variety of heating products and Bluetooth enabled products. Originally we were supposed to receive their newest Heavy Duty ProFLEX Bluetooth but were sent the ProFLEX Heated Insoles instead. The main differences I can see between the two are that the Heavy Duty are Bluetooth capable and also last up to 8 1/2 hours versus the regular ProFLEX which need to be controlled by a remote an only last about 5 hours. I definitely think the Bluetooth capability would be especially handy for anyone working out in the elements as I know my husband is up close and busy with cattle and heavy machinery all day and is worried about losing and breaking the remote. For recreational use, this particular ProFLEX style would be a great choice.

ThermaCELL ProFLEX Heated Insoles Features:
~Removable Battery
~Flexible Insole
~Lightweight Design
~Water-Resistant
~3 Regulated Temperature Settings
~Up To 5 Hours Of Warmth Per Charge
~Rechargeable Battery With Full Charge 4 Hours
~Durable Construction

Set up was easy. We charged the batteries and, following instructions by grasping carefully, I was able to transfer them easily into the insoles. The remote lights up as the button of choice is selected. The options are: High, Medium, and No Heat.

After inserting the battery into place on the insoles, they slipped easily into my husbands size 10 1/2 wide work boots. The instructions clearly state that the soles will NOT get hot to the touch and wearers won’t notice a difference if using in a warm environment. So once he was out in the elements again, he had to see if he would notice a difference.
His Thoughts: I can definitely notice a difference versus regular insoles. As the instructions stated, I don’t necessarily “feel” heat. However, when standing still, there is a noticeable difference. When I’m busy working and constantly moving, I can’t really tell except that my feet haven’t gotten cold either. The remote is easy to use but could get misplaced or dropped easily enough as well. I think these would be extremely beneficial to hunters who have to sit still constantly. I would love to see these insoles come with an extra set of batteries though as when I have to charge them, I either have to remove the insoles from my boots or wear different boots as the insoles can’t be worn with the battery out. Overall, definitely a great tool to help keep me more comfortable throughout the Winter but typically only lasts about 2 to 3 hours per charge from my experience.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

ProFLEX Heated Insoles would be wonderful for me since my feet are always freezing. I have a hard time shoveling snow, but these would help.

This would be great for my wife for Christmas. She could wear them while hiking with the dog this winter. Sometimes she has to quit because her feet get cold.

This would actually be great for me! I suffer from Reynaud’s Syndrome and it’s easy for my feet to get cold and lose circulation.

Nice! Those look so comfortable! I think my Dad would really enjoy these in the winter!

These would make such a great gift for just about every one I know. Especially this time of year when our feetsies are cold.

I can see this being advantageous for my son who is a trucker, but he would like to know if you feel the battery? I didn’t see anything in the review about it.

Hi Danielle,
My husband said he could NOT feel the battery and these were very comfortable. The only issue comes into play when charging (if you don’t have a spare set of batteries) as there would be a hole in the sole when the battery is out. So we plan to pick up a spare set of batteries to avoid this issue.

I have never seen these! I wouldn’t use them here in California but my family in Ohio sure can. It’s bitter cold and even though dad is elderly, he still braves the cold and shovels snow. He’d love these to keep toasty warm.

These are perfect for my husband he works construction
