South park: The fractured but whole

I was sent a copy of South Park The Fractured But Whole for review. All opinions are my own.

Like most people who were kids in the 90’s, Ryan grew up playing and loving video games. I enjoyed them as a kid too, but they were more of a casual interest for me. In the 10 years that we’ve been together, he’s introduced me to some games that I really fell in love with. There are a handful of games that we’ve spent hours and hours playing together.

He’s a fan of RPG’s and enjoyed a previous South Park game from Ubisoft, so I was excited when we had the chance to let him review South Park: The Fractured But Whole game which was just released this month. These days when Ryan plays video games it’s to relax, so I thought the humor in this game might assist.

If you’ve watched South Park you’ll be familiar with Coon, Cartman’s superhero identity. In this game you can gather up to 13 members of Coon and friends to help you fight the dark power that has spread over South Park. As you explore you can collect loot that you can use to craft equipment to help you in your upcoming battles. This game is a sequel to the 2014 game Stick Of Truth. We were sent this game on PC, and it included a downloadable code to get the Stick of Truth game as well. Ryan had played Stick of Truth before but did not own it so he was happy to get two games for the price of one.

The voice is created, written, voiced and directed by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, which really shines through in how true to the show the game feels. It doesn’t seem like a game with the same theme as the show, it feels like an extension of the show itself.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is available for PC, PS4, and XBOX ONE. It is rated M for mature, meaning it is intended for adults.

I’ve never been a fan of South Park. My brother, however, loves it. this would be a great gift idea for him.

I admit. I did watch South Park! I was an adult, so didnt play many games like it but I have to admit it sounds interesting. I have never heard of the first game either. I like Cartman and do recall his superhero identity (didnt recall the name til you mentioned it) I actually might enjoy this game although I was more of a FPS kind of gamer when I would play. I know a nephew that would enjoy this though quite a bit.

This would be a great holiday gift for my husband and I appreciate this review because it gives me a heads up so my son doesn’t play it. South Park is a funny cartoon show, but definitely not meant for young ones! Looks like a great gift for the older gamers in my life.

I bet my nephew would love to have this. I am not into games like that but I know many people that just love them.

My husband and son are big South Park fans. I’m not sure if they would be into the game or not. It is an idea for Christmas though!

This sounds like a fun game! I haven’t played a South Park game since the Nintendo 64 version (I know, I’m way behind)! I would definitely get this just for the humor in it, thanks for sharing. 🙂
