I love gifting books to young kids! One of my favorite places to shop for kids books is Candlewick Press. Candlewick Press has been crafting beautiful books for over 25 years.

Today, I want to share some of the titles I will be gifting this Christmas- Lighter than Air: Sophie Blanchard, the First Woman Pilot; The Princess in Black and the Hungry Bunny Horde; The Princess in Black Takes a Vacation; Boundaries How the Mason-Dixon Line Settled a Family Feud and Divided a Nation; and Race to the Bottom of the Sea.

Lighter than Air: Sophie Blanchard, the First Woman Pilot is beautifully written and illustrated. Sophie Blanchard was the very first female pilot in history. Prior to her flight, Sophie was a shy girl from a small seaside village. She was devoted to dream of flying. Author Matthew Clark does a great job of telling young readers all about Sophie how she fulfilled her dream and changed the world.

The Princess in Black and the Hungry Bunny Horde & The Princess in Black Takes a Vacation both feature stories about Princess Magnolia and her wild adventures. Like most young girls, Princess Magnolia has a wonderful imagination. She uses her creativity to overcome obstacles and tackle challenges. Princess Magnolia will entertain your young readers.

The book, Boundaries How the Mason-Dixon Line Settled a Family Feud and Divided a Nation, dives right into the history of the Mason-Dixon Line. Author, Sally M. Walker, discuss the tales of property disputes, persecution, and ideological conflicts. Throughout her book, Sally does a great job of encouraging young readers to explore the world around them, challenge what they find, defend what they believe in, and to do their part to change the world for the better.

Race to the Bottom of the Sea is a story about Fidelia Quail. Fidelia Quail is a clever young inventor. Through a difficult situation, Fidelia is forced to pull her knowledge and skills together to defend herself against a monstrous pirate. Fidelia’s task is to retrieve the pirate’s treasure, then he will let her go. Will Fidelia be able to find the treasure? What will happen to the pirate?

I look forward to snuggling with my girls reading each and every one of these books over Christmas break!
