Encourage The Engineer In Your Kids With Learning Resources

I received product from Learning Resources to facilitate this post.  All opinions are my own.

I’m one of those parents who wants to encourage our children to do and be anything they want.  With that, however, I also don’t want to push them to be something they don’t want to be just to make me happy.  As our children are growing, I’m seeing there’s a balance.  So I LOVE to introduce our kids to a variety of learning opportunities as well as career options.  Since we home school, I do this through field trips, their curriculum, daily conversations, and even toys.  And time and time again, I find Learning Resources to be a great resource of learning toys and games.

Engineering Girls & Boys

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.  Reports say that women represent 50.6% of the US population yet make up only 11.7% of all the engineers!  So incorporating STEM Toys in every day learning and play, especially for girls, is a great idea!  And in February, there’s even a National Engineers Week to help spread the love of engineering to boys and girls.

All five of our kids have really been enjoying Botley and say he’s lots of fun.  I like that he seems well made and the kids can “mess around” to figure things out without me worrying about anything wrecking.  It’s a win/win for everyone.

I really like these kinds of toys. I try to buy them for the kids. I had gotten my granddaughter interested in building things just as much as playing with dolls.

Learning Resources does have such amazing options! It is hard to believe only a little more than 11% of engineers are women. I like your strategy of exposing kids to numerous ideas, so that they find their interests, and resources like these help them to see STEM is fun!

Engineering toys are such a great way to learn! It is so much fun for kids that they do not even realize that they are learning. 🙂 I definitely want to get both of these for my kids, thank you so much for sharing!

I actually just came back from Toys R’ Us and bought a toy from Learning Resources for my toddler to help her learn the alphabet. These engineering toys are perfect for my older daughter who will be 5 years old on Saturday. I didn’t see these at Toys R’ Us, or I would have totally bought them. My daughter is really showing interest in engineering. These are perfect for her.

I love you mentioned encouraging girls in engineering! I think it is so important to encourage thinking differently. and not just give something like his just to boys. These are great fun looking toys, and would be fun for boys or for girls. Love the colors!
