I received the following Ellie Claire’s Art Journals from Worthy Publishing for review. All opinions are my own.
Have you ever had a journal before? Growing up, I started several but always struggled to continue with them. And as an adult, I’ve gone through phases where I’ve journaled and then taken breaks. However, our oldest daughter is an avid journal writer and I can always find her writing. But what I’ve found over time is that writing down my thoughts, prayers, ideas, and hopes is really comforting. It helps me relax and even helps to clear my mind. So today, I wanted to share Ellie Claire’s Art Journals with you as I think they would make fantastic Christmas gifts.
Faith & Lettering Journal
Hand-lettering is powerful and t here are many ways to incorporate it into your life. And the purpose of this particular journal is to inspire people to reignite their devotional time, to imprint Scripture on your heart, and to help dig deep into the Word of God with the the art of lettering.
King David wrote Psalm 51:15 “Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will declare your praise.” Well, a pen can also help you declare those praises too!
This book encompasses so much. From pages that feature scripture to others that encourage hand-lettering verses through tracing, writing, and practicing.
You’ll find tips, blank writing pages, and even inspiration such as “Forgive Matters” scattered throughout this book. These pages also offer:
- Three basic types of letters and variations on them
- Recommended tools and their uses
- Step-by-step instructions for decorative flourishes, ribbons, and embellishments
- Scripture prompts for inspiration
- Encouragement for overcoming creative insecurities
There is space to write, practice, doodle, and be inspired through each page of the Faith & Lettering Journal. “New mercies every day. Great is his faithfulness.” Lamentations 3: 22-24
Illuminate Your Story Journal
Looking for a way to enhance your writing? This Illuminate Your Story Journal is a great place to start.
First off, the cloth spine is a great feature as it allows for the pages to lay flat. I was also thrilled with the built in elastic pen loop on the spine as well as the high-quality, non-bleed paper inside.
I enjoyed reading about the history of illuminated letters. It was interesting to learn how some of these styles and manuscripts changed throughout history.
The sturdy pages offered step-by-step instructions as well as pages mixed in for journaling.
And I really enjoyed the quotes found between the covers of this book as well. “Joy cannot be pursued. It comes from within. It is a state of being. It does not depend on circumstances, but triumphs over circumstances. It produces a gentleness of spirit and a magnetic personality.” Bill Graham.
The Illustrated Word
Coloring and writing go hand in hand with this beautifully crafted Illustrated Word Journal. You are now able to create your own masterpiece as this journal features forty glorious illustrations from ancient manuscripts as have been recreated as line drawings.
Just as medieval monks brought the Scripture to life through intricate inked illustrations in handwritten manuscripts, you can bring your words and art into a creative keepsake.
Another absolutely beautiful journal option from Ellie Claire’s Art Journals selection.
So what do you think? Do you have someone in your life who would love to see one of these beautiful journals in their Christmas stocking or under the tree this year?
I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates. I’m blessed beyond measure and can’t wait to see what God has in store.
