I’ve been a Harry Potter fan since The Sorcerer’s Stone was released when I was ten years old. I read all the books, and watched the movies as soon as they came out, too! As you can imagine, I’ve been incredibly excited to introduce my kids to the wizarding world of Harry Potter as well, and they’re finally getting to ages where I can begin to do that! So far they’ve enjoyed everything I’ve shared with them and I hope as they get older their love for Harry Potter will only grow. This year, I thought it would be so fun to add to our Christmas decorating with the Lionel Hogwarts Express Ready-to-Play Train Set.
Lionel Hogwarts Express Ready-to-Play Train Set
This incredible train set comes with 24 curved train track pieces and 8 straight pieces, creating a 73.2 inch x 50 inch oval. I’ve been wanting a train for around our Christmas tree for some time now, and there’s no better train than the Hogwarts Express! We decided to make a circle to go around our Christmas tree and we’re all loving this new piece of decor and fun.
This train set features authentic sound clips from our favorite Harry Potter characters, and the kids just love using the remote control to navigate the Hogwarts Express forward and in reverse on our track. Using the remote, you can also blow the whistle and sound the bell; as you can imagine those are popular buttons for our kids! This Hogwarts Express comes with a working headlight, too.
The train itself is battery powered and comes with a locomotive and tender, and two passenger coaches. They have Hogwarts Railways and Hogwarts Castle emblazoned on the side of the locomotive and tender, which takes me back to visiting the Wizarding World at Universal Studios and riding the train myself! The details on this train and track set are just fantastic, and the perfect gift for any Harry Potter fan this holiday season. My whole family loves having the Hogwarts Express traveling around our Christmas tree, and we look forward to using it throughout the year on the kids’ train table as well!

Lionel is such a quality and trusted brand in the toy world. When I think of Christmas classics, a beautiful Christmas tree with a train set is certainly one of the things I think of!

We have had a train around our tree for a long time. The one my in laws bought for my son got ruined because of a leak this summer. I have been deciding whether or not to replace it, I think this train set may be the deciding factor. Both of my children were and still are big Harry Potter fans. Though my 15 yo says not to worry about getting another train, I think he would be happy if we did since there has been one there every Christmas of his life.

My girls are huge Harry Potter fans! They would love this so much! I love how cute it looks under the Christmas tree! I also love that it has to many features…. the light, can change directions, and the clips from the movie.

A Hogwarts train 😍😍😍 my husband expressed interest in putting a train around our tree like he had when he was little… my reaction was rather “meh” ….. I never thought about a Hogwarts train!!!! Now THAT I can get behind!!! I think I’ll surprise him with one!
