Kingsyard shepherds hook and bird feeder

Kindsyard sent me products for review. All opinions are my own.

As a new cat mom to the most precious and energetic kitten Pepperoni, I’m always looking for ways to keep her entertained. One thing she loves is looking out the window and watching the birds in our yard. So I was excited to work with Kingsyard to review some products that would attract more birds near our windows.

Kingsyard sent me one of their metal bird feeders which can hold up to 2 pounds of seed, complete with a set of their adjustable metal shepherd’s hooks to mount it with. I appreciated that the hooks come in a 2-pack so I could make them different heights as needed.

Installation was super easy – I just screwed the parts together, adjusted the height, and stuck them in the ground outside my living room window at the ideal height for Pepperoni to see the feeder when sitting on my desk. Then it was time to fill ‘er up with seed and see if any birds stopped by!

One of the first things I noticed about the Kingsyard feeder is how well-made it is. The thick metal construction makes it squirrel-resistant, unlike flimsier plastic feeders. All the parts like the feeding ports, perches, lid and base are chew-proof metal.

The drainage holes in the bottom keep seeds fresh by preventing water from pooling. And the clear plastic seed compartment lets me easily see when it’s time for a refill. I was surprised that we keep so many birds at this feeder that I find myself refilling it about every other day. It’s very common for every perch on this feeder to be full with birds. We even regularly have birds have little spats with each other as they compete to sit at the feeder! So, I think we could use a second feeder – and there is space to hold another feeder on the shepherds hook that I was sent.

The feeder comes in three colors and I was sent green. I feel that it blends right into the surroundings! It looks nice and natural.

It didn’t take long for birds to discover the free food source right outside my window! We get tons of sparrows, the occasional chickadee and even bright red cardinals have stopped by to snack. I put some bird-safe reflective window film on my living room window so Pepperoni and I can watch them up close without disturbing them.

The bird feeder and sturdy shepherd’s hooks have held up nicely through wind, rain, and snow with no issues. Seeing the little birds visiting us daily has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the morning! It’s such a peaceful way to start the day.

As someone completely new to birdwatching, I appreciated how easy Kingsyard made it to attract beautiful wildlife right to my yard. And Pepperoni is thrilled with all the new “TV” to watch! The well-constructed feeder is built to last.

I’d recommend Kingsyard feeders and accessories to anyone wanting to welcome more birds to their outdoor spaces. The shepherd’s hooks allow you to customize the setup to your needs too. It’s been such a rewarding experience for me and my kitten. Let me know if you have any backyard bird watching tips for beginners!

I am a cat mom also! My kitty loves looking out our windows and I have been wanting to buy a bird feeder like this.

That is the one thing I miss living in a apartment I cannot feed the birds. I can just see your cat watching ever move they make.

If you get a chance with a flat hanging feeder get some in shelled peanuts. It will get you a lot more vistors

Congrats on your new bird feeder – it certainly looks like it’s a hit with your local birds! I’ve been a birder since I was a kid, mostly because my mother loved watching and feeding birds. I learned so much from her, and I’ve carried that love of nature with me throughout my life. However, I’m not familiar with the Kingsyard brand, so I appreciate your introduction to them (and I definitely will use your discount code if I buy anything from them, so thanks for that, too!).

P.S.: I just went to the Kingsyard website and found something I’ve actually been in the market for – a dish-style birdbath that I can attach to my deck railing. Yay!! Unfortunately, they’re out of stock right now, but I’ve signed up for a notification when they’re back in stock. Thanks again!

I am going to have to check out Kingsyard. I am looking for feeders with covers or covers for feeders for when it rains and snows.

First off, I love your cat’s name, very cute that Pepperoni! I truly enjoy feeding birds, always a plus to watch them from a window with a view! I have bought Kingsyard feeders previously and will do so again.

That looks like a great set up! I love watching the birds at our house! Our bird feeders are right by our window too! We don’t have a kitty to watch all the birds, but our parakeet sits by the window and watches all her friends through the window.

What a success with all of the interesting birds you have coming to your feeder. I will have to check out their hummingbird feeders since I am in the hunt for a few new ones.
