Zero Technologies is a company that has developed dual ion exchange tap water filtration devices (pitchers and other dispensers).  These filters have been tested and compared to other filtration devices currently on the market and they have proven to remove more chemicals and pharmaceuticals than their competition.

As consumers, many of us trust our tap water to be safe.  For the most part, it is but it is also known that pharmaceuticals and other dangerous contaminants can be found in it.  Most people don’t realize this…I know I didn’t.  Even if it’s “safe”, it doesn’t always taste as good as it could/should due to the TDS (total dissolved solids) such as salts, minerals, etc.   That’s where the ZeroWater filtration process comes in.

The ZeroWater filter pitcher has received recognition from the Water Quality Association and has received numerous certifications.  In fact, the ZeroWater filter pitcher is the only filter pitcher to receive NSF International certification.   What does all of this mean to an average consumer?  Well, let me tell you.

First of all, let me tell you that I grew up on a well and that well produced the coldest and sweetest water I’ve ever tasted.   That’s not the case with my “city” tap water; however over the years, I’ve gotten used to it.

When I received my review item (The ZeroWater 6 Cup Pitcher), I couldn’t wait to see if it would improve the taste of our water.  I knew it would make it safer but I wanted to know if it would make it taste better.

Red light ON with non-filtered water

I poured one glass of non-filtered tap water and another of filtered tap water using the ZeroWater 5-stage dual ion exchange filtration system (the same filtration system that is used in commercial water purification).   Wow, could I taste the difference.  The non-filtered water tasted like something (not sure what…maybe the rubber tubing that it flows thru in my refrigerator?) and the filtered water…tasted like water.  Seriously, it was just nice, unflavored water.

Red lignt OFF with filtered water

I gave my husband the same two glasses and asked him to tell me what he thought (he didn’t know which glass was filtered and which wasn’t).  I gave him the filtered glass first and then the non-filtered one.  He said the filtered one tasted “different” than what he was used to.  I asked him what he meant by “different” and he said, there’s no taste.  VIOLA.  I rest my case.   The ZeroWater filter not only removed any contaminants in the water, but also removed the mineral icky taste that we were both used to.

ZeroWater is on facebook.

Who are you buying ZeroWater for this holiday season?
