I received products from Slimfast for my review. All opinions are my own.

Slimfast recently surveyed women asking about their wardrobe and how the clothing in it fits. They found that many women have “Locked Closet Syndrome” Their studied showed that most women have 14 articles of clothing in their closets that they can’t fit into. Sixty-eight percent say they keep these clothes around hoping they will fit again. The study goes on to say that seventy-nine percent of women dread getting dressed because of the way their clothing fits (or doesn’t fit.)

Slimfast wants to help “Unlock Your Closet”. They are inviting us to complete the 14-day Slimdown. After 14 days, our wardrobe could fit more comfortably and pieces that currently don’t fit, may fit when we are done.

Last year, I lost 50 pounds. I currently have between 10-15 pounds to lose and then I will be at my goal weight. Like many women, I know that once I reach my goal weight, it will be a huge confidence builder for me. Unfortunately though, these last few pounds have been tougher for me to lose than the first 50. I am sure my weight loss has slowed down for a number of reasons. I have tried not to worry about it and to just continue with what I am doing. However in the back of my mind, it bothers me that I haven’t yet reached my goal.

I was asked to participate in the Slimfast 14-day Slimdown.  I thought perhaps this would help jump-start my weight loss again.

With the 14-day Slimdown, you can lose up to 6 pounds in two weeks. Simply by:

•           Swapping two meals each day for a Slimfast Protein Shake and/or Meal Bar

•           Eating a third meal that consists of 500 calories

•           Including three 100-calorie snacks or pieces of fruit each day

•           Making sure your day’s total calories don’t exceed 1200

•           Doing a minimum of 30 minutes of light to medium exercise and drink plenty of water

For my review, I received the products needed to complete a Slimfast 14-day Slimdown. This included Shakes, Meal Bars and Snack Bars. The products I received included three new flavors of Slimfast products- Have your Cake Meal Bars, Limited Edition Pina Colada Protein Meal Shake and Greek Yogurt & Honey Snack Bar. My favorite flavor of these three was Pina Colada; I just love that tropical flavor.

The first week of my 14-day Slimdown, I chose to have a shake for breakfast, fruit for a morning snack, a meal bar for lunch, veggies for an afternoon snack (4 servings), a healthy dinner (500 calories) and a yogurt bar for dessert. After a week, I had lost 2.6 pounds.

I noticed though that my stomach was upset by mid-morning. I quickly figured out that this was because of a prescription I take in the morning so for the second week, I added a piece of toast with my morning shake. I figured this would help with my upset stomach and it did some but not all the way so I found it necessary to change my food schedule a bit more. By the end of the 14 days, I have lost 3 pounds.
