 Have you ever considered having someone create personalized pet portrait jewelry for you?  We are a big animal loving family and sadly, we’ve lost several pets over the years.  Most recently was last Fall.  While our older daughter and I were on a youth group event weekend, I received word from my husband that our beloved puppy Jojo had been run over and killed.

The four remaining kids and my husband at home were devastated and  so was I.  Even though we had only had her for a few months, she was already a very big part of our family.  I ended up waiting until the car ride home to share the news with our daughter as I didn’t want to ruin her entire weekend.  And she took the news as bad as the rest of the family.  It’s just so hard loosing a pet.  Even now, five months after losing Jojo, our 3 1/2 year old still sadly tells us, and anyone that will listen, that “Jojo died”.

To be honest, along with Jojo, I also chose to have a piece made for two of our living pets.  Because these two animals are such a huge part of our every day life, I know how difficult the day will be when they are no longer here.  So I wanted to already have these pieces to celebrate them now and have as a remembrance when the day comes that they are no longer on Earth.

We chose to get our sweet Jojo on a key chain.  Since our 10 year old son was especially close to her, I thought he’d really appreciate being able to clip this remembrance onto his backpack.  The details that shine through on the finished piece are amazing.  So beautiful!

Next up, our sweet 3# Yorkie, Angel, was designed on a gorgeous necklace.  Her tiny little features and cute body dressed in her sweater came out perfect.  While she’s technically everyone’s dog, she is extremely attached to our oldest daughter so this necklace is for her.  She already cherishes it and loves that Angel can now go everywhere with her!

Finally, we have a bracelet with our darling and feisty Rosie the cat.  We rescued her about six months ago from a wall in the hayloft of our barn and nursed her back to health.  Sleepless nights, bottle feeding, and so much love.  This cat is a big presence in our home.  So making sure that we will always have this sweet piece of jewelry of her is amazing and goes perfectly with her unforgettable personality!
