Thanks to Donner for sending me this amazing piano and bench! As always, all opinions are my own. There are affiliate links in this post.

Do your kids play musical instruments? I started playing the clarinet when I was in fourth grade and then started playing piano in seventh grade. Unfortunately as I got older I got involved in other activities and stopped playing both by the time I graduated high school. I’ve been considering picking piano back up and our ten year old daughter Harper has also been really interested in trying it out, too! It turns out we have a really great piano teacher less than fifteen minutes from our house so I think she’ll start lessons soon! We don’t have room for a full sized piano in our house, but we do have the space for a Donner digital piano.

Donner DDP-60 Wooden 88-Key Digital Piano

We decided to go with the Donner DDP-60 Wooden88-Kay Digital Piano for a few different reasons. The first is that it has semi-weighted keys. I’ve found that semi-weighted keys are easier for small fingers to navigate and press while still allowing the piano to produce beautiful sound. Digital pianos and keyboards have come such a long way since I was a kid, and it’s amazing that Donner has such a variety of digital pianos for any age and ability.

One thing that’s incredibly fun about digital pianos is that they offer more than just a standard piano-sound. The DDP-60 features 83 rhythms, 47 demo songs, 8 reverb effects, and 128 voices. Our kids LOVE playing around with the various sounds and options. To be honest, I do too!

There is a pedal attachment so that, just like a traditional piano, you have the option to sustain or shorten notes. Where the pedal cord attaches at the back of the piano, you’ll also find headphone output (which may come in handy when our kids are learning piano and I need some quiet!) and stereo output for connecting to external speakers. The piano itself does have two built-in 15W speakers so the sound is very full and beautiful!

One of my favorite features of the DDP-60 is that it offers dual mode, which allows a teacher to play in the same range as the student. This is a great feature for anyone learning piano at home!

You can choose to purchase the Donner DDP-60 with or without a bench, but I would highly recommend getting the bench to go along with it! There are a couple of options to choose from; this color that matches the piano, a darker wooden color, or white. The bench has a comfortable cushion and I love that it opens up to store sheet music and lesson books. I can’t wait to start filling it up when Harper begins piano lessons! Our son, Lincoln, just told me that he’d like to take piano lessons too, so it looks like lots of piano will be in our near future!
