I’m always on the lookout for games that the kids can enjoy and play together. And recently, we had the opportunity to check out a brand-new release: Marsupilami 2: Salsa Palombia! It’s is a high-energy 2.9D platformer that sends players through four vibrant worlds filled with obstacles, challenges, hidden areas, memorable bosses, and plenty of action. And yep, there’s local two-player co-op! So you can play alone OR with a friend/sibling!
Welcome To The Colorful World Of Marsupilami 2: Salsa Palombia
One of the first things I noticed with Marsupilami 2: Salsa Palombia is how colorful and lively everything is. (This isn’t a dark or serious adventure.) The environments are bright, energetic, and packed with personality. The layouts give this game a fun, family-friendly feel from the start.
Players will make their way through four different worlds, with the intensity steadily increasing as they progress. Of course, it can’t ALL be smooth sailing! Everything eventually leads up to a final showdown against the Mummy Queen. So you’ll want to make sure you’ve mastered those Marsupilami skills along the way!
Choose From THREE Playable Marsupilamis
You don’t have to play the entire game as a single character either. Marsupilami 2: Salsa Palombia features three playable Marsupilamis. Each Marsupilami has their own unique ability, giving players a reason to switch between characters throughout the adventures. Certain abilities can help players progress through levels and even reach special areas you might not otherwise be able to access.
Local 2-Player Co-Op!
My favorite feature is how you can play the adventure in local two-player co-op! Players can team up and work their way through the adventure side-by-side, switching characters and using their different abilities to progress. For families with siblings, this makes Marsupilami 2: Salsa Palombia especially appealing.
Challenges, Hidden Levels & Four Colorful Worlds
There’s plenty to keep players busy beyond simply making it through the main adventure! Marsupilami 2: Salsa Palombia mixes exploration, challenges, cooperative play, and a little friendly competition to keep things interesting.
- Battle Dojos: Put your skills to the test in fast-paced competitive challenges. I love that you can spend one gaming session working together and the next trying to prove who’s the ultimate Marsupilami player!
- Extra Challenges: Take on solo and co-op challenges, time-trial levels, and competitive trials to earn bonuses and unlock additional content.
- Hidden Levels & Special Areas: Don’t race straight to the finish! Exploring can uncover hidden levels and special areas, and switching between the three Marsupilamis and their unique abilities can help you reach places you might otherwise miss.
- Four Increasingly Challenging Worlds: Travel through four colorful worlds that steadily increase in intensity, giving newer players time to learn the ropes while still providing tougher challenges for experienced gamers.
- The Ultimate Showdown: All that practice eventually leads to your final challenge; a showdown with the Mummy Queen!
